Okay I almost cried while I watched my youngest perform his Kindergarten program yesterday. I thought after the first two I was over doing the teary eyed thing, but I can't seem to stop.

I think I tear up because of the overwhelming feeling of total unconditional love I have for my kiddos. I am such a proud mother, and I feel blessed to have each one of them in my life. I adore their unique personalities, and in my opinion they are beautiful to boot. I must be smitten!

George started out calm, but got into the on stage thing really fast. By the end of the program he was being GEORGE.
After a little poem reading and singing, we all got to sit and watch a small slide show of the Kindergarten classes. I took a photo of some of the ones I saw George in:

Mrs. Bolva was the assistant in George's class this year. She held a special place for him in her heart. She said he was just like one of her boys at this age. I thought: OH YES.....there is hope for me! And in this picture you can see GEORGE!
George was lucky to get such an awesome teacher this year. Mrs. Batten has been able to keep up with all of George's antics, and I think she adores him. She always talks about how he is just like a little man. Don't I know it!
I love the sunglasses pulled down with his eyes looking over the top of them! He kept doing this kind of stuff towards the end of the program. Morgan and I just sat and laughed at him.
Here is one of the last shots of him up on stage............... This says it all!!
Have a terrific Thursday everyone!

Football Camp

About 3 weeks ago I signed both the boys up for a small football camp. It was ran by the High School with players and Middle School Coaches there to help out. Both the boys had such a great time fine tuning their skills, and of course hanging out with the High School Players is just an added bonus! Michael and George already know some of the team players thanks to their sister, and you know nobody can forget GEORGE (no matter how hard they try, haha).
Michael worked on running back and receiver. I wasn't excited about his choice because I am all about the defense side. I love to see him hit and take em' down, but Michael wants to do something different and I support that (sniff sniff). Here are some shots of Michael:

George isn't fast on his feet. I think he will be more a defensive player because he is big and doesn't have tons of speed. It was hilarious watching him out there on the field. The coaches looked at him stern, but then look away to smile and laugh. I think George was a kid they loved to hate. Here are some shots of Tornado Boy at his best:

working on making friends (most important to a 6 year old):
Both kids did their best, and more important they had lots of fun. Michael impressed the middle school coaches, and that will help out in August during tryouts! George got to learn some new stuff and how to LISTEN! All in all it was a growing experience for both of them!
Hope you all have a fab Friday!

Proud To Be............
Being married to a military man isn't an easy task, but one I am proud of. The lonely times, the stress, the worry is all worth seeing my beautiful man wearing this:
My blog buddy Sybil had this up on her blog a few days ago. I asked if I could place it here as well. A lot of what I read when I read this holds true.
What is a MILITARY Wife?
They may look different and each is wonderfully unique, but this what they have in common. They have THIS IN COMMON!
Lots of moving
Moving
Moving
Moving far from home
Moving two cars, three kids and one dog
all riding with HER of course.
Moving sofas to basements because they won't go in THIS house
Moving curtains that won't fit
Moving jobs and certifications and professional development hours.
Moving away from friends, moving toward new friends
Moving her most important luggage; her trunkful of memories.
Often waiting
Waiting, waiting, waiting for housing; waiting for orders; waiting for deployment; waiting for a reunion; waiting for phones calls; Waiting for the new curtains to arrive; waiting for him to come home for dinner----AGAIN!
They call her 'military dependent', but she knows better.
She can balance a checkbook.
Handle the yard work.
Fix a noisy toilet.
She is intimately familiar with drywall, anchors, and toggle bolts.
She can file the taxes, sell a house, buy a car, or set up a move, -- all with ONE Power of Attorney.
She welcomes neighbors that don't welcome her. Reinvents her career with every PCS; locates a house in the desert, the arctic, or the deep south and learns to call them all 'home'. She MAKES them all home.
She is fiercely IN-dependent.
Military Wives are somewhat hasty.
They leap into decorating, leadership, volunteering, career alternatives, churches and friendships. They don't have 15 years to get to know people. Their roots are short but flexible.
They plant annuals for themselves and Perennials for those who come after them. (I plant roses and 4 o'clocks and always leave them for the next family to enjoy)
Military Wives quickly learn to value each other. They connect over coffee, rely on the spouse-network and accept offers of friendship and favors and record addresses in pencil.
Military Wives have a common bond.
The Military Wife has a husband unlike other husbands, his commitment is unique. He doesn't have a job, he has a 'mission' he can't just decide to quit. He's on-call for his country 24/7 but for you, he's the most unreliable guy in town!
His language is foreign:
TDY
PCS
MOS
FOB
ACU
And so, a Military Wife is a translator for her family and his. She is the long-distance link to keep them informed and the glue that holds them together.
A Military Wife has her moments.
She wants to wring his neck, dye his uniform pink, and refuse to move to Siberia...
But she pulls herself together.
Give her a few days, a travel brochure, a long hot bath, a pledge to the flag, and a wedding picture.
And she goes.
She packs.
She moves.
She follows.
Why?
What for?
How come?
You may think it is because she has lost her mind.. But actually it is because she has lost her heart. It was stolen from her by a man...
Who puts duty first.
Who longs to deploy.
Who salutes the flag.
And whose boots in the doorway remind her that as long as he is her Military husband, She will remain his Military wife.
Mikey:
I love all that you do for our family. All the sacrifices you make to keep not just us safe, but every family safe. I love being YOUR military wife......I LOVE YOU!

Girls Slip-N-Slide TOO

Morgan and her best friend, Micaela, decided to pull out the ole' slip-n-slide the other day. I think they were in the mood for some water fun in the hot hot sun.
As always George couldn't just watch...........he had to join in on all the action! The girls were sweet enough to let him play with them. Micaela even went down the slip-n-slide with him.
Then George decided to get his big sis!She was just sitting there all nice and pretty.........
then all of a sudden...... WOOOOSH a collision!
Morgan just looked down at George and smiled because, well, it was GEORGE!
What could be more fun than enjoying an hour with your best bud while slipping and sliding in the water?
Have a whimsical Wednesday everyone!

Bye Bye Shade Tree

My beautiful Mother sent me this pictures in an e-mail. A few weeks ago Dallas, Texas was hit with some major storms. My Mom lives in one of the towns just outside of the Dallas area; therefore she was one of the many who got some yucky weather.
My Mom told me she went to her front door and looked out because the wind was so strong outside. She noticed the tree across the street was uprooted and laying over the house. At that moment she thought about her beautiful tree in her back yard. When she reached the back door and looked out this was what she saw:
Mikey planted this non-bearing Pear Tree for my Mom when Morgan was just 3 years old. Over the years the kids would try to climb to the very tip top, they would nail up boards to make a ladder, they would swing on the branches, and even pose for pictures by this tree. MEMORIES!!!!! That is all we have left of this big beautiful tree...............
Have a great Wednesday everyone!
